Scheme Outline

Construction of a new underpass linking the A13 dual carriageway from London to the A130, allowing traffic to flow more easily between the A13, A127 and A130 dual carriageways avoiding the current magic roundabout at Sadlers Farm.

A short new link will connect the A13 directly to Canvey Island.

Progress

14 April 2010 Work is starting this month on the new underpass.
18 July 2010 Construction started on 12 July 2010. The work is due to be completed by March 2012, in time for the Olympic mountain biking event at Hadleigh.
22 January 2011 Old A13 (London Road) has been diverted to allow the construction of the bridge over the new link. You can see the line of the new link as you drive along it.
1 May 2012 The scheme is on schedule to open to traffic on 31 May 2012, although some finishing work will continue until the end of June.
