Replacement of a short section of the A14 with a new dual two-lane route. The scheme will take a series of sharp and accident-prone bends off the route and replace several dangerous flat junctions with a new grade separated dumbbell interchange.
|14 April 2007||Transport minister Dr Stephen Ladyman has officially given this scheme the go-ahead and start of work is expected later this year.|
|14 September 2007||Work has now started on the scheme.|
|30 October 2008||The mainline opened to traffic in September; work on the local route and bridleway is still ongoing.|
|22 December 2008||All major work completed. Final tidy up is due to happen in January 2009.|
