Scheme Outline
Work on the long awaited Porthmadog Bypass started in February 2010 - the new stretch of the A487 will also bypass the villages of Minfford and Tremadog.
The contractors are Balfour Beatty and local firm Jones Bros. (of Ruthin).
The scheme was opened on 17th Oct 2011.

| 2 November 2010 | The official project website is now available, with details of construction progress and traffic management. |

| 30 September 2011 | More than 2,000 local residents walked a 4 km stretch of the new road on 25 September 2011. The official opening is scheduled to take place before the end of the year. |
| 17 October 2011 | The new road was officially opened today. |
