Scheme Outline

The A499, which is being considered as a candidate trunk road by the Welsh Assembly, is being upgraded in the remaining sections where it is narrow with tight bends. The new route bypasses the village of Clynnog Fawr.

Preliminary site clearance was performed during the winter of 2006/7.

Progress

17 December 2008	The Clynnog Fawr bypass is now open.
6 March 2009	The new alignment near Trefor is in use.
17 July 2009	This scheme was officially opened on 17 July 2009.
