Scheme Outline
Construction of a new single-carriageway bypass to Haydon Bridge on the A69 Newcastle-Carlisle route. This is the last significant settlement on the route to receive a bypass.
The Highways Agency have declared their planned timescale for this project includes ground investigations beginning immediately, with construction beginning in 2007.

| 14 October 2006 | The government approves the scheme, with work due to start in 2007. |

| 14 January 2007 | Work begins on-site. |
| 14 June 2007 | Groundwork is now underway, with the line of the road clearly visible. Cemetery Road is now closed off for realignment works and construction of the bridge. |
| 24 March 2009 | The road is finished and open to traffic. |
