| 6 March 2010 | Traffic-light controlled section has been temporarily extended to allow for investigative work in preparation for final design. |

| 23 February 2012 | A formal "Decision to Proceed" was enacted today. Construction is expected to take 12 months, with complete closure for ¼ of that time. |
| 24 April 2012 | The procurement process has now started. |
