Scheme Outline

Construction of a section of viaduct to replace this particularly narrow length of road (with 30-year-old 'temporary' traffic signals) with a new, modern road.

Progress

6 March 2010 Traffic-light controlled section has been temporarily extended to allow for investigative work in preparation for final design.
23 September 2010 Draft orders were published today.
23 February 2012 A formal "Decision to Proceed" was enacted today. Construction is expected to take 12 months, with complete closure for ¼ of that time.
24 April 2012 The procurement process has now started.
