Scheme Outline
Upgrade of the existing A90 between Balmedie and Tipperty to dual two-lane standard, with provision of two new grade separated junctions. This will complete a gap in the existing dual carriageway that currently forms a major bottleneck.

| 14 June 2006 | A public exhibition for the plans has been held. |

| 14 January 2007 | Transport Scotland has announced its preferred route for the road. |
| 14 July 2008 | Transport Scotland is now issuing Compulsory Purchase Orders for the land the new road will require, even though the statutory process is not yet complete. The start of work has been set back two years to 2010. |
| 16 August 2009 | Local inquiry is due to start on 18 August 2009. |
| 29 August 2010 | A local newspaper quotes the Transport Minister as saying a final decision is expected by the end of the year. |
| 27 January 2011 | In a news item released today, Transport Scotland has confirmed that this project will now definitely go ahead. |
| 6 December 2011 | According to the Infrastructure Investment Plan released today, this project will be combined with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route into a single package for the purposes of funding and delivery. |
| 15 March 2012 | The Made Orders were published today. |
