Scheme Outline

Upgrading of the A96, including dualling between Inverness and Nairn, a new Nairn bypass, a new Inveramsay Bridge and new connection between the A9 and the A96 to provide relief for the Raigmore Interchange.

Progress

26 August 2010 The start of detailed preparatory work was announced today. The results are expected next Spring.
6 December 2011 According to the Infrastructure Investment Plan released today, this scheme is not expected to start until 2017 at the earliest.
6 February 2012 Public exhibitions on the scheme are taking place today and tomorrow.
