Construction of a new route to carry the A1198 past Papworth Everard. The route will be single two-lane standard. A bypass has been planned on this line since at least 1954.

- Substantial construction work has now started on-site.
- August 2006
- Traffic is now using the new roundabout at the north end of the village, though it's not yet complete!
- April 2007
- The new road is completed and open to traffic. New traffic calming measures are now being installed in the town.
