Scheme Outline

A new dual two-lane road on a new alignment connecting the current Four Elms Hill dual carriageway to the Sharnal Street bypass. It is not grade separated, and will have roundabouts at principal junctions. The scheme includes a new single carriageway link road into Hoo, terminating near Broad Street Cottages.

Progress

June 2005
Works are nearing completion and parts of the road are already open. Full opening is due very shortly - probably by the end of the month.
July 2005
The road is opened to traffic. Medway Council announces that the next section of the road, High Halstow to Grain, will be upgraded shortly. A decision is expected in December 2005.
