Scheme Outline
Upgrade of A43 between Towcester and the M40 to dual two lane standard, including some realignment. Also includes reconstruction of the junction with the M40.
Timeline
- 1991
- M40 opens. The A43 is loaded with extra traffic as it provides a shortcut between the M40 and M1.
- 1997
- The new government identifies the section of road in its Targeted Programme of Improvements (TPI) listing.
- 2000
- The Highways Agency begins upgrade work.
