Scheme Outline
Mostly on-line upgrade of the A92 between Dundee and Arbroath to dual two-lane standard, with some off-line sections. The new road will be mostly grade-separated. This scheme was first considered around forty years ago. In addition, surrounding roads into Monifieth and Carnoustie will also be realigned and upgraded.
Timeline
- 1963
- Scheme to dual A92 between Dundee and Arbroath is suggested.
- 2002
- Contract for dualling awarded to Morgan Est.
- 2003
- Start of work.
Progress
- September 2005
- Work is substantially complete and the road is due to be formally opened shortly.
- October 2005
- The new road is now fully open to traffic. Scheme complete.
