Scheme Outline

Mostly on-line upgrade of the A92 between Dundee and Arbroath to dual two-lane standard, with some off-line sections. The new road will be mostly grade-separated. This scheme was first considered around forty years ago. In addition, surrounding roads into Monifieth and Carnoustie will also be realigned and upgraded.

1963
Scheme to dual A92 between Dundee and Arbroath is suggested.
2002
Contract for dualling awarded to Morgan Est.
2003
Start of work.

Progress

September 2005
Work is substantially complete and the road is due to be formally opened shortly.
October 2005
The new road is now fully open to traffic. Scheme complete.
