M11 & A120 Stansted Airport Access

Scheme Outline
A sense of déjà vu for many people, as this scheme is set to modify M11 junction 8 at Stansted to improve access to the airport. A scheme with an identical aim (M11 J8 Stansted) was completed in December 2003, adding free-flowing links between the M11 and A120.
This scheme aims to improve connections between the airport and the M11 to the north. It involves the construction of a new junction 8b on the motorway, linked to the existing junction 8 roundabout by collector-distributor roads, and a new link road to the airport from there. The access from the A120 will also be reconfigured to make way for the new link road.
