Scheme Outline
The aims of the scheme are to increase capacity and reduce congestion.
The scheme involves upgrading M1 J10a to allow traffic to flow freely between the M1 Spur and the A1081 Airport Way. The M1 Spur would both be widened to three lanes each way, as would the section of the A1081 between J10a and the Capability Green junction, with a lane drop to two lanes each way running through the improved junction. A 50mph speed limit would apply to the whole of the improved section.
