Progress
| 19 February 2009 | Trees and bushes have started to be removed from embankments between junctions 27 and 28. All set for proper construction to start in July 2009. |

| 16 September 2009 | A contraflow and 50 limit have now been imposed between junctions 27 and 28. Work is now rapidly advancing on the eastbound carriageway, with the original hard shoulder and land to the side of the road now cleared. |
| 4 September 2010 | From J27 up to a mile before J28 the works are completed and 4 lanes are now open. The works have now shifted down from J28 to J29. |
| 9 March 2011 | Work to widen the section between J29-30 is scheduled to start in June 2011. |
| 16 July 2011 | The section between J28-29 is now fully open. |
