Scheme Outline
A package of measures designed to improve safety and increase capacity of the road network around and to the east of M5 J29. Traffic flows in this area are predicted to increase signficantly by 2016, as a result of a business park development, the completion of Exeter Gateway, and the expansion of Exeter Airport.
M5 J29 will be improved by widening the southbound exit sliproad from three to five lanes, and reducing the loop of the northbound exit sliproad. A new traffic light controlled junction will be constructed to join the existing A30 to Honiton Road (unclassified/C832) via a new link road. This new junction will have direct access to M5 J29 southbound.
