Scheme Outline

Originally planned as a road-widening scheme, which was criticised for failing to sufficiently increase road capacity, the M6 between Birmingham and Manchester is to have Active Traffic Management installed instead.

Progress

1 December 2011 Funding for this scheme was announced in the Autumn Statement earlier this week, as part of the National Infrastructure Plan.
