Close to Ipswich, the A12 was realigned when the A45 (now A14) Ipswich Bypass was built. A substantial length of the A12's old route exists as an unclassified road, which is a cul-de-sac at its northern end. This is the view from the final turning before the end - note the 'dead end' signs.

The exit from London, with the exit for the M25 to one side and the open road to the other. In actual fact, the road ahead narrows to one lane because of the volume of traffic that joins the road from the M25 further along.
