The Port Talbot elevated section, between junctions 40 and 41, cuts through a residential area. It's certainly not a beautiful structure, but it is quite impressive. Local residents are usually a little less complimentary about it.

The sliproads are even more constricted; the eastbound exit at junction 41 is shown here, one lane wide and diving off to one side as the motorway mounts the viaduct. Not for the faint hearted!
