At junction 6, on the low-standard Ellesmere Port section, there's a single carriageway spur to a car factory. Off the motorway it looks like this - as apalling as it looks on a map. Note the motorway restrictions start at an arbitrary point just before the junction.

New signs have been erected all along this section, but for some reason the old 1970's flag signs around the roundabouts remain intact (mostly).

Good thing they do - they're original to the M531. That patch is just calling out to be peeled off! The destination of 'Town Centre' is highly unusual - and a reminder that this piece of motorway wasn't built to be the main road between Chester and Liverpool.
