Construction of a bypass for the villages of Wadesmill, High Cross and Colliers End. The bypass will be to dual-two lane standard with grade-separated junctions, extending the A10 dualled route from its current terminus north of Ware to the A120 roundabout at Puckeridge.

Progress

14 December 2003 The expected opening date for the scheme is missed as severe ground settlement causes the road surface to break up. The Highways Agency is unable to give a date when the road will open.
14 October 2004 Extensive works to rebuild sections of the bypass following subsidence problems have been completed and the road is open to traffic, ten months after the programmed opening date.
