Construction of a new dual-two lane bypass for Thorney near Peterborough, to divert the A47 to the north of the town. The route will have flat junctions, with three roundabouts along its length. Thorney is notorious as a bypass has been planned for several decades.

Progress

14 September 2004 Work begins, with land fenced off and earthworks under way.
14 October 2005 The two roundabouts at each end of the scheme have been open for some time, and contractors are hoping for an opening before Christmas.
14 December 2005 Road is completed and opens to traffic.
