M25 Holmesdale Tunnel Refurbishment

Scheme outline

Properly called the M25 Holmesdale Tunnel Refurbishment and Junction 25 Improvements. The works will provide a third lane eastbound through junction 25 (previous works provided the third lane westbound), and widen the adjacent Holmesdale Tunnel to dual four lane. It will also provide essential refurbishment work on the electrical and mechanical equipment within the tunnel.

This scheme has been completed and CBRD is no longer accepting progress updates.
14 July 2007

The eastbound lane was opened this month, ahead of schedule, and the speed limit through the roadworks was increased accordingly. The westbound exit and eastbound entry are both still closed.

14 September 2007

Works were finally completed in early September.
