Scheme outline

The aims of the scheme are to reduce congestion and improve safety on a section of the M60 south of Manchester.

The scheme consists of widening the anticlockwise carriageway of the M60 between j4-2 from 3 to 4 lanes, and widening the exit slip road onto the A34 at j3. Traffic lights at the nearby A34/A560 crossroads will also be improved.

The main construction phase is due to run from June to October 2012.
