M62 J27 Gildersome Roundabouts
- Completedwith some parts under motorway restrictions
- £ 6.5m
- Highways England
- Region: Yorkshire and the Humber
Widening of the two "dumbbell" roundabouts; with direct cut-throughs of the northern (A62/A650) roundabout for A62 traffic; the southern roundabout will be converted to a "teardrop" form (like M4/M32 or Catthorpe east). Both roundabouts will be signalised. Some of the motorway slip roads are to be realigned. The speed limit for the entire junction complex will be reduced to 30mph.
|8 December 2008||The northbound A62 through the northern roundabout looks complete.|
|22 December 2008||Both carriageways within the northern roundabout are now surfaced (but not open to traffic), as is the right-turn gap from northbound A62 to M62 east. Lane markings on the southern roundabout now provide two left-turn lanes for exiting M62 traffic.|
|8 April 2009||The traffic lights have been switched on, possibly on Sunday 29th March 2009, and on Tuesday 7th April there were minor finishing works going on.|
