The Queensway Tunnel in Liverpool is something of a marvel - there's a whole section devoted to it in CBRD's In Depth pages.
A four minute journey through the tunnel is a little bit more revealing than you might think. The tunnel portals are rather marvellous, yes, but on this short trip from Liverpool to Birkenhead you can also see the two branch tunnels (especially the Rendel Street branch at 2'55"), the strange lane markings and lane control systems, the double-decker buses that do fit through as long as they use the middle lanes, and more.
